"Mission Arvada is a comprehensive ministry of The Rising that seeks to help the
poor, hurting, addicted, marginalized, and homeless of our community. We take
seriously the teaching of Jesus and the command to help those in need."
Mission Arvada is the single largest provider of direct services to the homeless. The primary
purpose of ServeTheUnhoused.org is to organize the faith community in Arvada to
better support Mission Arvada.
Current Goals
- Stock 6-9 months of Underwear. Mission Arvada will run out of underwear periodically.
We think that's unacceptable, so we're working with our coordinators to collect 1,000 pairs. There
are lots of things that can be done, and we think this is a really powerful small step.
- Develop the Mission Arvada Ambassador program. Ambassadors walk Olde Town Arvada, picking up
trash and carrying the conversation to local businesses, the homeless, and general public. Anyone can serve,
please fill out a feedback form if interested.
- Develop the Mission Arvada Church Coordinator program.
- Coordinate clothing drives between churches. We'd like to space out the drives so we don't have multiple
drives happening and the same time, and swamping the clothing bank at Mission Arvada.
- Prepare food supplies for the upcoming winter, as relates to the
Cold Weather Activation Program.
And we are actively seeking more churches to join our efforts to better serve the unhoused. Please
